hi all.its been a long time that i am able to write again something bout our environment.The recent bandh regrading the phasing out of 15 yr old vehicles is a lesson which should be an eye opener for every kolkatan.May be it was just another holiday for office goers or another issue to be raised by the opposition party but just how many of us think that how much cleaner our city can become by a little effort.If people stand by their beloved city it can follow the foot steps of our capital city which was once the most polluted and now can vouch for its greenery.Still I feel that besides phasing out of old vehicles, which in fact wld be taxing for the vehicle owners, people can use car pool, cycle etc to commute & which are easy to impement. Just a thght behind the cause is required.Or even an example from mumbai can be borrowed where the court has ordered the private taxis off on a week day. As for now i just hope that our city becomes cleaner in the coming days.Go Green!!!!!!!
